The Colbert Report had parts of the Auction

Ah, poor Duke. He's been reduced to a punchline.

The Colbert Report sent a "reporter" to the auction of Duke's stuff. He had a lot of antiques and a nice leather couch.

The "reporter" was on a mission to buy Stephen a nice momento from the Duke's considerable collection (for under 200 bucks.)

Apparently, a lot of people liked the Duke's stuff and the only thing the "reporter" ended up with was the auction sign.

Thanks. I missed the show, but there's a video online:
http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/the_colbert_report/
Click on "Colbert Report Videos" in the center of the page. Then select "Duke-obilia Auction".
The Comedy Central videos usually stay for a month or so.

I remember reading a news report about someone bidding with a ping pong paddle that had a picture of Stephen Colbert. It even had a photo of the guy. I didn't know he REALLY was part of the Colbert Report.

The show is very funny . . . Comedy Central at its best.
