I just returned from a long weekend with one of my fellow JO shipmates aboard the infamous '71-'72 WestPac cruise aboard Constellation. While I have a cruisebook from the cruise, I never received the "addendum" to the cruisebook (the part where the cruise was extended 2-3 months compliments of a slippery wrench in some other ships' snipes hands. In any case, I paged through this and thought some of you may find the facts surrounding our 10 month cruise interesting. For those of you who have heard that an Aircraft Carrier is a "floating city", this will help document it. BTW, my buddy continued on with Connie for the next 73-74 cruise and loaned me a cruisbook of that if anyone needs photos/facts. Here's the poop from the 71-72 cruise:
