I don't always agree with the use of the american public's tax dollar but when it comes to welfare we have all put in place this system that rewards laziness in america. Somthing for nothing, that is how it is for so many americans who don't want to get up off the couch for anything more then checking the mail for their next free pay-check! As a working class american I support any change that will get the free-loaders off the tax payers back! ald

I can respect your view with regards to welfare. Some of what you say is true, and to an appalling degree. There are people out there who will and do milk the system for all it is worth. I think better documentation and burden of proof for those seeking welfare and stiffer penalties for those found in violation of falsely accepting welfare support.

On the flip side, there are the people who are honest and hardworking and need a bit of a leg up for a short time for them to get back on their feet. The type of people who exhaust every other avenue before asking for help. These are the type of people welfare was truly meant for.

Of greater concern, at least to me, is the concept of corporate welfare. I read a study a few years ago...I forget the author...that detailed how much is paid out in forgiven back taxes and breaks on current taxes given out to several hundred American corporations a year. The figures were staggering. The author calculated the amount paid out to these companies verses how much was paid out to private citizens...and the amount to citizens was not even close to the amount paid out to the corporations.

I think corporate welfare is a far worse problem since most any major corp. has legions of lobbyists to ensure they are at the front of the line when the feeding time begins at the public trough.

From all accounts, Randy is one of those at the head of the line....for himself as well.
